The Wise integration with WebWork lets you export the payroll report file in Wise Batch Payments format that lists what your team members have earned. You then upload it to Wise and pay them in a single batch.
No need to sign in to Wise from WebWork, no data syncs between them, and the payments themselves happen in Wise.
The Wise export is part of payroll, which is included in Plus and Premium. On Pro, activate the Payments & Payroll Add-On ($1.5 per user/mo) to use it.
Before you start
Have these ready first:
- A Wise Business account
- An hourly rate for each member you’ll pay with Wise. Earned amounts are based on these rates and the time each member tracks. You can add rates at the member, project, or contract level.
Step 1: Set Wise as the payment method
- Go to Finances > Manage Payroll
- Find the member you want to pay through Wise
- Under Pay Through, select Wise Batch Payments
- Select their Pay Period

Go through the same steps for anyone else on your team who gets paid with Wise.
Each member has their own payment method, so Wise can be one of several options in your workspace. Others on the team can still get paid with PayPal, Payoneer, Gusto, or a different method. How to set up and manage payroll explains the rest of the fields on this page.
Step 2: Export the Wise file
WebWork offers the Wise export in two places:
| Export from | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Reports > Rates & Amounts > Export tab | When you’re paying members for hours tracked over a date range |
| Finances > Payments | When you’re paying existing invoices or exporting one new payment |
Export from the Rates and Amounts report
- Go to Reports > Rates and Amounts
- Open the Export tab
- Select the date range
- Use the Members, Projects, and Export Format filters to choose what to include
- In the Export Format column, check that Wise Batch Payments is selected for each member you pay through Wise
- Click Export
Clicking Export downloads a zip file, and export-wise.csv inside it holds the Wise data. Members assigned to other formats, like Gusto or PayPal, get separate files in that same zip.

Export from Payments
For invoices you already have in WebWork:
- Go to Finances > Payments
- In the payment method filter at the top left, select Wise
- To export all invoices that match the filter, click Export at the top right.
For a new payment:
- Go to Finances > Payments > Create payment
- Switch Payment System to Export Method and select Wise
- In Send to, select the member
- Enter the Amount without fee
- Add a Note if needed
- Click Export

Step 3: Upload the file to Wise
Here’s how to send the batch from Wise:
- In your Wise Business account, go to Payments > Batch
- Upload the file you exported from WebWork
- Review the transfers in the batch
- Pay for the batch from Your account or by local bank transfer
- If you pay by bank transfer, use the payment reference that starts with B, then click I have paid
