Can I unapprove a timesheet or edit an approved timesheet?

No. Once a timesheet has been approved, you cannot edit or revert it. Approved timesheets are considered final and are typically used as the basis for payroll and invoicing.

Approval is irreversible. Once a timesheet is approved, it cannot be unapproved, reverted, or edited. Verify the timesheet carefully before approving.

You can make changes to submitted timesheets before they are approved.

If the Timesheet Hasn’t Been Approved Yet

The only way to make changes after submission but before approval is to unsubmit the timesheet. This returns it to draft state so the member can make corrections and resubmit.

To unsubmit a timesheet:

  • Go to Timesheets > Timesheet Approval.
  • In the Submitted tab, click the three-dot icon next to the timesheet.
  • Select Unsubmit.

Once unsubmitted, the member can edit their time and resubmit for approval.

If the Timesheet Has Already Been Approved

There is no way to undo an approval. If the approved timesheet contains an error, the recommended steps are:

  • Contact your workspace Owner or Executive Manager to determine the best course of action.
  • Any corrections to tracked time going forward will need to be made manually in agreement with the approver.
