How to download, install, and use WebWork on Linux?

To download and install WebWork Desktop App on Linux, go to the Download page here

After downloading, you can install the tracker in two ways:

  1. Install with Terminal

    1. To install the tracker through the terminal, you first have to remove any older versions of it that may be installed on your PC. Use the following command to do it:

    sudo apt-get remove webwork-tracker

    2. Then, cd into your downloads folder with the following command:

    cd ~/Downloads/


    3. Use the following command to start the installation process:

    sudo dpkg --install webwork-tracker-enter_your_version_here.deb


  2. Install with App Manager

    To install WebWork Desktop App with the GUI, follow these steps:

    1. Locate the downloaded .deb file on your PC, and run it.
    2. Enter your sudo password to authenticate the installation.
    3. Follow the instructions to install the app.

If you’re using an older, long-term support version of Linux with glibc version 2.27 or older, download our legacy app from the Download page. Use WebWork on distros like Ubuntu 18.04 LTS without disrupting your workflows.
