Work-Life Balance Settings

The Work-Life Balance settings in WebWork are designed to help organizations encourage healthy working habits and prevent employee burnout. These settings allow you to define the boundaries of what is considered healthy work behavior.

To access these settings, go to: Settings > Work-Life Balance

Overworked

Here, you can set the range of healthy work hours. By default, the range is divided into three categories:

  • Underworked – fewer than 7 hours

  • Healthy – 7 to 9 hours

  • Overworked – more than 9 hours

You can adjust these ranges depending on your organization’s standards and expectations.

Irregular Hours

This setting defines the daily limit of working hours outside of the set schedule.

For example:
If you set the limit to 2 hours and a team member works more than 2 hours outside of their scheduled time, those hours will be flagged as irregular.

Lack of Breaks

In this section, you can set how many continuous hours a member can work without a break.

For example:
If you set the limit to 4 hours and a team member works for 4 hours straight without taking a break, it will be considered lack of breaks.

High Activity with No Rest

This setting allows you to define the limit for high activity without rest. When activity levels remain consistently high without pauses, it may be a sign of overexertion.

Once the owner configures these settings, team members can receive Reminders whenever they trigger any of the defined indicators.

Here is an example: 

Let's say the Owner sets 7-9 hours for the range of healthy hours, 9 PM for the latest acceptable working hour, and 4 hours as the daily limit.

If you work more than these numbers of hours, you will get these reminders in no particular order.

Burnout Risk Indicators

Each of the above indicators comes with a percentage value that you can set. This percentage determines the minimum threshold at which a team member is considered at risk of burnout.

Here’s how it works:

  • The percentage represents how often, within a selected date range, a member can display a certain indicator before it is flagged.

  • For example, if you select High Activity with No Rest, set it at 20%, and choose a 1-week period: This means if a member shows this behavior on 20% of the days in that week (about 1 day), they will be marked as at risk of burnout.

This gives managers valuable insights into working patterns and helps maintain a sustainable balance between productivity and well-being.
