What Is Single Sign-On and How to Use It?

To enable single sign-on, you should first register in Okta.

Available on Plus and Premium Plans

Only the Workspace Owner can set up SSO.

Single sign-on allows your workspace members to sign into multiple services, including WebWork, with only one set of credentials. This can speed up the identification process and even ensure a higher degree of security.

Currently, WebWork supports the Okta single sign-on service and the SAML and SCIM protocols.

What is SCIM?

SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is a protocol for exchanging user identity information between multiple services. SCIM is used to simplify user management with a centralized management dashboard.

By configuring SCIM for your WebWork workspace, you can view, edit, deactivate, and reactivate members from your Okta dashboard. These changes will then be synched across all productivity apps your organization uses.

You must complete your SCIM configuration to use this feature. Learn how to do so in detail on our SCIM configuration help page.

What is SAML?

SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is a protocol for exchanging authentication data between two organizations, a Service Provider (SP, i.e. WebWork) and an Identity Provider (IdP, i.e. Okta).

To activate single sign-on for your WebWork workspace, you must complete your SAML configuration. Learn how to do so in detail on our SAML configuration help page.
