Task Statuses

Statuses Tab

WebWork’s task statuses let you organize your tasks. By default, there are four statuses in your workspace:

  • Open
  • In Progress
  • Done
  • Closed

Each of these is grouped in its own category:

  • Open
  • Active
  • Done
  • Closed

How to add and modify task statuses

To add or edit task statutes, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Tasks from the sidebar.
  2. Hover over the project of your choice and click the gear icon next to its title. In the opened window, select Custom under Use Workspace Statuses.
  3. Click Add Status and enter the name of your new status and press Enter/Return on your keyboard.

How to create custom statuses on WebWork Task Management

This will add your new task status to the Open category of statuses. You can drag and drop the new status to the category of your choice by using the six-dot icon on the left of the status title.

Each new status will be automatically assigned a unique color. To change this color manually, click on the colored square on the left.

To delete added statuses, click the three-dot icon on the right and click Delete Status

Note: you can change the colors and the names of the default statuses. But you cannot delete them or move them between status categories.

You can also add and modify task statuses for your entire workspace. To do this:

  1. Go to Settings by clicking the gear icon on the top right-hand corner.
  2. Click on Tasks and edit or add statues the same way as described above.

Note: If you want to delete a workspace status that’s in use by a task, you will need to select a different status to switch that task to.

Permissions Tab

In the Permissions Tab, you can control who has the ability to create, view, and edit tasks in your workspace. These settings ensure that task management permissions are aligned with your team’s needs.
Permissions Options
  • Allow editing tasks by regular users - when enabled, regular users can create, edit, and delete tasks assigned to them—whether the tasks were created by themselves or by others.
  • Allow regular users to manage others’ tasks - this option allows regular users to view, create, edit, and delete the tasks of other members within the projects they are assigned to.
  • Allow editing of Task IDs - when enabled, workspace owners and executive managers can edit task IDs.
